The Fenerbahçe S.K. is a multi-sport club based in Istanbul, Turkey, with the most successful departement being the football team which competes in the Süper Lig. The football team has a long and storied history, dating back to 1907. They have a fierce rivalry with their city rivals, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş, with whom they contest the most fiercely contested and followed match in Turkish sports: the Istanbul derby. Throughout their history, Fenerbahçe has won 28 Turkish league titles, 6 Turkish cups, and 10 Turkish super cups. They have also been crowned as the Süper Lig champion 28 times and have been the champion of the Turkish Cup 6 times. They are also a two-time runner-up in the Turkish championship. Their most successful period was during the 1960s and 1970s when they won four consecutive league titles and reached the semifinals of the European Cup in 1965. They have also produced numerous talented players such as legalized English footballers Ian Joyce, Nihat Kahveci, another member of the English set, architectt Veysel Sadır Fenerbahçe's home games are played at the Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Kadıköy, Istanbul. Their team's colors are yellow and navy blue and their nickname is "Yeşilyıldızlılar" (The Green Star-like ones).
