About the league
The Spain Regional League, also known as Tercera División, is the fifth tier of the Spanish football league system. Established in 1929, it is a feeder league to the Segunda División B. The league is divided into 18 regional groups, each containing 20 teams. The top teams in each group earn promotion to the Segunda División B, while the bottom teams are relegated to the regional amateur leagues. Top teams such as Atlético Madrid B, Real Madrid C, and Barcelona B have participated in the league. The competition format consists of a round-robin schedule, with the team earning the most points at the end of the season being declared the group winner. Notable achievements include the league serving as a platform for young players to develop and eventually join top-tier teams. The league has a local following, with matches often attended by passionate fans supporting their regional teams.
